PROJECTS

Project | Karneval der Tiere

Children to the organ! - The world classic by Camille Saint-Saëns played and danced by Basel schoolchildren.

100 Basel children take a participatory approach to Saint-Saëns' stroke of genius. What they experience and feel in the process is creatively realized with the dancers and choreographers Andrea Tortosa Vidal and Francesca Genovese under the direction of Andrea Pfaehler. Musically, the animals from fish to lion will be performed by the 'first symphony' youth orchestra and organ students aged 9 - 15 years, in an arrangement by Matthias Kuhn. Great classical music - not just for little ears.

Project | Art Experience in Motion

As part of the Kunsttage Basel, dance interventions in the exhibition In Ekstase by P. Staff invited visitors to move on Saturday, August 26, 2023 and Sunday, August 27, 2023.

In the first room, an electric net hangs above the visitors: What happens when you touch it? Does the body twitch from the electric shock? Dance teacher Francesca Genovese encouraged the participants to make various movements in order to experience the rooms of P. Staff's exhibition with their whole body.

Project | DEVDAS

Francesca Genovese was part of the ensemble in DEVDAS, a dance spectacle, performed at the Theater for the New City in New York. The timeless tale of everlasting love by Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay. Presented as a ballet set in India's hyper competitive dance reality world, where woman rule, and love and loss is just a transaction. With Indo-Contemporary choreography by Swarali Karulkar and music composed by Aalap Desai, Junoon Performing Arts and Hypokrit Theatre Company presented this classic tale as has never been seen before.
